Mike Leatherman
Mike Leatherman has been involved in the music / entertainment industry for over 30 years. He began learning multiple instruments at age 7 and was soon on stage performing shows with his siblings at age 9. Since then he has performed with many original and cover bands in almost every performance situation possible... from home town clubs and festivals to huge concert arenas for crowds in upwards of 80,000 people. He has done countless radio, video, and TV appearances including shows at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN.
Mike Leatherman is a versatile musician and band leader, with a wide range of musical genres under his belt. He has served as lead vocalist and band leader for various groups, spanning from bluegrass and country to hip hop, pop, and rock. He was particularly instrumental in the success of the Las Vegas-based hip hop and pop group, Thrust, where he served as lead vocalist, and was responsible for creating all the Pro Tools recorded backing tracks. He also played a significant role in conceptualizing and creating the group's stage outfits and stage shows.
In addition to being a vocalist, Mike Leatherman is skilled in playing multiple instruments including piano, keyboard, synthesizer, organ, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, drums, bass, banjo, violin, fiddle, and mandolin. His musical abilities extend beyond performance, as he has experience in band leading, song arranging, song writing, chord chart writing, and song tabbing/transcription. Additionally, he possesses technical know-how in owning and operating PA/ sound systems, working with digital and analog music equipment, and understanding stage set-up. Furthermore, he has experience in computer-based audio production using Pro Tools recording software, as well as basic knowledge of other miscellaneous audio software.
